An iconic building within Birminghams skyline, The Cube stands tall with its shiny glass exterior and renowned square shaped panels. It offers not only some of the most incredible views, but the most luxurious office & retail space that the city has to offer.
The Cube team approached us to help them with their promotional advertising. They wanted us to raise the profile of the building and encourage potential buyers to lease their wonderful office and retail space.
We were tasked with the brief of creating a set of brochures that would sit within the Cube offices themselves and be sent to prospective customers and businesses across Birmingham.
Process & Outcome
In the initial stages of the project, we assigned the skills of the highly talented Photographer Verity Milligan to capture some panoramic shots of The Cube building. From here, I was tasked with the brief of using the images to design and art direct two brochures - one for office and another for retail.
For the style and layout I was heavily inspired by The Cube’s architectural structure. The distinctive cube patterns seen within the building walls, quickly became a graphical element that would shape the style of the pages themselves. Squares were a consistent feature throughout, reflected through the imagery placeholders and icons.
Our copywriter then worked to rewrite the brochures copy, refreshing its tone of voice to reflect the new design theme I had created. It was decided that the copy would play on the cube aspect with the sides showing different elements of the building - ‘Where so much is on your side’, ‘On the side of business’ etc.
