Circular&Co are a business currently championing the sustainable product market, making drinkware products that not only look modern and innovative but are 100% reusable and overall better for the planet. All of there products are entirely made from recyclable materials and can be reused hundreds of times over.

We were tasked with the brief of helping them to promote their new Reusable line of products - taking the shape of a brand new advertising campaign across print collateral, digital display, OOH, social and radio.

Process

It was clear from the outset that we wanted to place Circular&Co’s core mission at the heart of the campaign: to turn everyday waste into something truly wonderful.

Working towards this mission we produced the campaign ‘Pretty Rubbish’. A campaign that plays on the self deprecating aspect of waste, yet highlights in a cleverly executed juxtaposition the premium feel and look of Circular products. Rubbish can in fact look pretty!

With each headline you are made to rethink what you see as rubbish. The emphasis on visual photography of the products help to elevate our understanding.

Outcome

Once a visual identity for the campaign was created, as a team we rolled this out across various platforms from large scale billboards to digital display.

My specific role on this project was to lead on all digital outputs - translating the campaign for both animated digital display and social.

This was a particularly enjoyable task as it allowed me to animate in a more playful and fluid way. I decided to animate the copy with the intention of creating a dramatic effect with it bouncing onto screen. For the cups themselves I had these floating upwards like they had been thrown up in the air adding to the idea of elevating the message further.

The animations were shown on digital display screens across the whole of the Birmingham City Centre for several weeks.
